THE
This project was created for a compositing class where we where assigned to explore keying and color correction in Nuke to integrate an actor into a brand ad of our creation. I picked Otamatone as my brand for its's ease of keying and it's potential to be paired with fun, surreal motion graphics.
This is a compositing breakdown of the piece. I emphasized animation in this piece while pairing it with vibrant colors and illustrative elements o capture the surreal fun nature of the instrument and the sounds it creates.
Our instructor arranged a shoot day for us to either act in our own piece or find an actor. the footage was shot on a RED Camera for high res imagery and dynamic range.
I arranged an appointment with our departments sound designer to add an Otomatone solo over a royalty free track. We ended up plugging a sample of the instrument into a midi keyboard and arranging it on that.
